I dont have a hood on my oven?!

Question: I dont have a hood on my oven!?

So I am going to culinary school and have been learning lots of good stuff!. But the apartment I am renting doesn't have a hood or exhaust over it to take out all the fumes and smoke!. Does anyone know if there is something that I can buy to help out with this!? Or should I just hope that all of the smoke and everything goes out my window before setting off the smoke detector, which I would like to add is very sensitive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
