I have hens and they have a lovely rich colour the richness of an egg can come from being out free range like mine or being fed maize or some hen foods have an ingredient put in them to make the yolk of an egg yellow therfore if i had a pale one i would be trying to find out which hen had it and i would not eat that egg in case the hen was sick id see first had the hens pale combs which should be bright red and if they were pale id check them for mites which suck out their blood and make them anemic and then i would dose them for wormsWww@FoodAQ@Com

We have chickens, have had for about 10 years, the commercial cage laid eggs you probably buy have no green food whatsoever, not a speck, they are fed on seed, (I doubt it) more than likely 'pellets' imagine eating pellets for your whole entire life!. ANYWAY, the more green stuff the chooks get the brighter yellow/orange the yolk!. Our girls are free range, eat grass, lettuce leaves we get from local vegetable shop and all suitable kitchen scraps!. When we make an omelet, or scrambled eggs, I swear to God they look like somebody has added curry powder!. Those poor hens that laid your eggs probably never see the outside world little own a green thing!. Please buy free range, better for your karma and the lovely hens that lay every day anyway, don't know why idiot men put them in cages, they will go to the same place every day to lay, rain, hail or shine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The egg is old, we used to have chickens and the yolks were a healthy bright colour!. only when the eggs are OLD, is when they go pale!. I suggest that you do not eat them and take them back to the shop you got them from!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i havent seen one like that, but i have had eggs that have blood spots in them and yes i throw them out too!. and its true what most have said on here, a healthy egg should be a bright yellow colour not orange like they are nowadays!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The chickens were not fed a variety of foods, instead were just fed hormones and pellets!. BUY FREE RANGE PLEASE!.!.!. If you can!. Then the yolks will be bright and healthy and the benefits will be there for you to as the yolks will contain more nutrients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It the egg is stinky!.!.!.!.!.!.or the color is off!. i would not use any of those!. use a seperate dish so you don't ruin the other eggs that are good!. add them one at a time to what you want to cook!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yuck!.!.

i own a restaurant, and i throw lots of eggs away because some have red dots in them once they are cracked, that is blood - look next time you crack one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's old!. You'll notice if you buy fresh free range ones (from a local farm or something) the yolks are bright orange and really big!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
