Will I get food poisoning from undercooked chicken?!


Question: Will I get food poisoning from undercooked chicken!?
I just ate a few mouthfuls of undercooked chicken, before i saw the red juice which i thought was blood!.!.!. i am really worried in case I get food poisoning!.!.!. is the red stuff blood!? and do you get worse food poisoning the more undercooked stuff you eat!? please help!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

There's no guarantee that you'll become ill from those few bites of chicken!. Just like there's no guarantee that you'll become ill from an undercooked hamburger or steak!.

It all depends upon TWO factors:

1!. whether or not there was actually food-illness-causing bacteria on/in the chicken,
2!. whether or not the chicken had been cooked long enough to kill the bacteria (that may or may not have been present)!.

Even if the chicken was undercooked (and the red stuff was chicken juice!.!.!.similar to the juices from a rare steak), the likelihood of illness is still fairly slim!.

Just be more careful next time!.!.!.May I suggest cutting into the food with a knife & fork before biting!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, it's probably blood!. The thing about cooking is that if there are nasty bacteria around, the temperature the food reaches will kill the bacteria!. If there are those bacteria in the chicken then you might get food poisoning!. This link has really good info:

no, there is a very very small case you will get salmonella!.
