Cold cuts, lunch meat, deli meat, sandwich meat, etc!. are pretty much just different words for the same thing - any kind of sliced meat or sausage used to make sandwiches!. A lot depends on which part of the country you are in or were raised in as to which term is used!. When I was growing up in northern Illinois and working in my hometown grocery's deli department, cold cuts was the term used for sausage type lunch meats like salami, bologna, pepperoni, blood sausage, jellied tongue, thuringer, summer sausage, etc!. while lunch meat was usually used when referring to sliced ham, turkey, roast beef, corned beef, pastrami, sliced meatloaf, pickle and pimento loaf and things like that!.

I hope I helped clear things up for you!.

They are the same thing but at the deli you can choose to have the meat sliced to the required thickness and you can choose the amount you need precicely!. The packs have the advantage of being convenient to choose from the shelf and usually have a long shelf life meaning you can keep it refrigerated for a longer time than the cut meats you can buy!. (They tend to need to be eaten within about 2-3 days!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

They are usually the same depending on what store you go to!. Most supermarkets have the kind of meat you buy at the meat counter in prepackages!. But those may have more preservatives because they are supposed to keep longer!. But I don't think there is really any difference!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
