Bifidus what??!
Does anybody else think that the words Bifidus Digestivum and Bifidus Regularis are made up!? The adverts keep telling us to eat/drink them daily to help our 'natural digestive flow'!. Women on the adverts seem to agree!?!?!?!? Is it just me or are things being made up now just to ge us to buy these products!? What ever happened to prunes!?!?!?!!!
And what the fudge are pentapepcides!?!?!?!?
Crazy!
Bread and dripping to eat and cold creme for the face!! Got people through the 'olden days' and we have an awful lot of people living to a ripe old age without all the new found 'digestive tract disorders'!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yep, all made up!.
Pro-retinol is just plain old vitamin C,
Activa Regularis is a trademark of Activa, so can't be used anywhere else!.
The women on the adverts who agree with "Bifidus regularis" and the like are paid to say what they say!.
The best so far is a fabric conditioner that smells of diamonds, what does a diamond smell of !? Soot !?
I can however smell a diamond a mile off me !!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I suppose most such names are made up at some time or other!.
I do think the latest round of bifidus this's and that's and the rest, are made up to blind us with science, the end purpose of which is to extract money from consumers!. I find those ads a joke!.
Maybe I feel that way because I don't go in for, or need that sort of stuff anyway!. I do like a decent plain yoghurt though but without all the scientific additives! I much prefer a balanced, healthy diet including wholemeal bread, fresh fruit and vegetables, either raw or cooked by me!. No problem!
In the 'olden days' bodies weren't subjected to so many unnecessary additives and pollution, perhaps that has something to do with the nation's disorders, digestive or otherwise!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are so right!. I think these names are concocted, don't think many are in the dictionary!. My gran lived into her 90's and ate every mortal thing that we are now told is bad for us, she was only ever in hospital with a scalded foot and died of old age in her sleep!.
All these young women advertising wrinkle creams, I doubt any of them are old enough to have a wrinkle , even so the photo's are airbrushed!.
Dripping on toast, yummy !!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yup, completely made up and apparently Danone is getting upset that people are questioning it!. See the link below!.
I personally think that any claim of efficacy in an advertisement should have had an independent empirical study before the advert can be issued!. For a mass market product would expect at least a sample population of 10000 or more!.
The number of beauty products that have extravegant claims and then put in very small print at the bottom of the screen " 87 women tested 75% agree", I have to admit if I were the marketing people I would be very concerned about the 22 people I paid to test my product who told me it did nothing than the remainder who know which side their bread is buttered!.
The only truely effective measurement of efficacy is the double blind!. If you know that you are testing the real product it will almost certainly skew your opinion of the result, especially in beauty treatments!. If you have volunteered for a skin cream it is because you already feel that you need treatment, and you will be hoping like hell that it will work!. So bravo to those who had the guts to tell the testers that their product were bunk!.
Its about time somebody marketed these products on the basis that they make you feel better, not look better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
