Random question about sodas?!
I'm sure it's not just me and everyone notices that the sodas that come out of the soda dispensers at resturaunts seem alot sweeter than the sodas u drink out of a can or 2-liter!. Why is this!? Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

The syrup and carbonated water are mixed on site!. Sweeter means you get a bigger sugar buzz and they hope you'll order another before you leave and after your glucose drops after the first glass!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
At most restaurants, buying large containers of flavored syrup is much cheaper than buying prepackaged soda!. They pour the syrup into the soda fountain and mix it with carbonated water!. Sometimes they add a bit too much syrup giving your drink a sweeter taste and possibly thicker texture if too much syrup or not enough carbonated water is added!.
Have you ever tried to get some drink from the soda fountain and got nothing but a clear looking liquid!? That liquid was the carbonated water before it was mixed with the syrup or was the built up carbonated water at the bottom of the canister of soda after the syrup was exhausted!.
Hope this helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, they do use their own syrup, but it's the same thing that they use in cans!. Most of the people here are wrong, I think!. They put chemicals in the cans for it to last longer, that's why these cans of drinks or whatever last so long!. I forgot however what the chemical was!. This makes the Coke in the cans taste different than the ones in restaurants!.
The Coke in restaurants doesn't contain this chemical, therefore it tastes fresher, and better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are so many answers to this question, mine will probably not even be read, but , here goes!.
There is a syrup, carbonated water system!. They are hooked up by tubes that lead to the fountain drink area!.
In some places they are canisters, ( old style ) and in the newer version they are vacuum sealed bags!. Bags are more economical, and i believe more sanitary!.
The old canisters had to be taken back, cleaned and refilled!.
The carbonation is still in canisters!. You attach the hoses to each and you get soda!. No tricks no special blend!. Just soda!. The way it is mixed by the amount of air pressure they have in their system!. That's why some pour fast and some slower!.
Anyway!. You are getting a fresher soda without the taste of any of the can preparation!. I don't know if there really is a difference, but to me I would rather have it from a fountain or a bar gun, than a can!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

restaurants can control the amount of carbonated water and syrup that pumps through their soda fountain!.!.!.sometimes when you get an overly sweet soda it's because they are low on carbonated water and it's mostly syrup!.!.!.and vice versa, if it's not too sweet, it's because they are low on syrup!.!.!.this happens because most of these people don't know how to adjust the syrup and carbonation levelsWww@FoodAQ@Com
i totally kno wat ur takin about,it is kinda weird!.i learned that restuaraunts buy huge things of the syrup that flavors the soda at really cheap prices and they mix it into carbonated water themselves!.the amount of syrup they put in is different from the amount the actual factory that makes and distributes the soda puts in!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
sometimes the dispensers in the resturaunts may have more syrup coming out of the dispensing tube when it mixes with the carbonation!. it's not always the same it just happens that it's sweeter at times!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Its because many restaurants have fountain sodas which is soda syrup mixed with there own water with carbonation!. Many times the machines are not set right and the amount of syrup can be too much or too less!. Sometimes its really funky because the water is not well filtered!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Its probably because when the resturants fill the dispencers its a syrup of the soda flavor and maybe when the soda is dispenced it mixes with some carbonated water and maybe it isnt mixed with as much carbonated water then the bottled stuff!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It's because it's a mixture of carbonated water and flavored syrup!. Sometimes the mix is a little off and you end up with a little more syrup (which I happen to enjoy)!. Sometimes you end up with less and it tastes nasty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Less carbonated water, they have them hooked to a bag of the flavored syrups and supposed to be calibrated to measure out evenly with the carbonated water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
They taste alot different!. Thats why I dont bother ordering them anymore!. It has something to do with the syrup they add !. Sometimes its messed up!. I used to work in a fastfood place, and had to check it all the time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Great question!. I think that it's because the vending machines keep the pop (yes, i'm from the northwest) colder!. Colder pop tastes better to me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Ohmigosh, I know what you're talking about! Maybe it's because they're fresh!.!.!.!? Or maybe the fridge they keep 'em in is a special alien fridge that does special things to the soda!.!.!.To make people drink more!.!.!.!!!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think it's because the soda out of the fountain is flat!.!.!.flat soda seems sweeter to me!.!.!.the carbonation makes it seem less sweet, i supposeWww@FoodAQ@Com
I have never noticed!. I do not like it when the soda tastes like city water!. I like drinking soda out of a bottle best myself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the restaurants get a box filled with syrup thats mixed with water!. sometimes its sweeter because more syrup leaks through than neededWww@FoodAQ@Com
If the syrup and water mixture is correct the flavor will be the same!. This is called Brixing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
A lot of restaurants don't use Coca Cola brand Coke like you'd expect them to!. They buy syrup and make their own!. I prefer the brand names though!. The ones at restaurants usually taste weird!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
