Call around!. Sometimes a bakery (including the ones inside of grocery stores) will help you out with a box!. In Northern California, there is a store named Diddams that carries party supplies!. Some of the Diddams locations had the pink bakery boxes!. You didn't say if you're making a rectangular or a round cake!. If you make a 9x13" cake and leave it in the pan, you can tape a cookie sheet or piece of cardboard over the top of the pan to protect the cake!. If you make a round, 2-layer cake, you can put it on a big plate or platter and cover it with an upside down cooking pot!.
If you get a discarded box at the grocery store, don't use a box that previously contained something that would be toxic, like detergent, chemicals, cleaners, etc!.
You could also try putting the cake in a big plastic storage container like the Rubbermaid 18-gallon storage boxes with lids!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

um!.!.!.not sure!.!.!.depends!.!.did u frost it!?
if u did, ur gonna have to put it in a box without it being able to slide and touch the walls, you can glue sticks to poke the cake into!.!.!.im not sure if u understand that!.!.!.
like stick 2 sticks through the cake so they cross like an X and then attach then to the box!.!.!.although ur cake will have wholes in it!.!. and then now u will have to put the cake box into another box
use a box that is bigger then the first box by like a couple of inches!.!.!.fill the bottom of the big box with something like peanut foamies or newspaper but only a little and then put the cake box on top and then put more of the padding materials around it so its like the cake box it surrouded on ALL sides!.!.!.u got it!? its kinda confusing, huh!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

In my area, I'd go to Paper Shack or to a Bakery Supply store!. P/S would be best if you only want one!. They sell all kinds of paper products, some plastic and even a few nic naks!. At Christmas time they sell gift wrapping paper and decorations!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
