Can you thaw and leave brats out all day before cooking?!
i took a party pack (10!?) of brats out of the freezer this morning and they sat out for at least 8 hours, thawing time included in this!. i then boiled them for 30 min or so and browned them in the pan!.!.!. are they ok cuz i ate 2 and hubby was freaking out that what i did was wrong!.!. then he went and ate 2 or 3!.!. so are we gonna get sick!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

i have thawed meat out all day so many times and nothing has ever happened, you cooked out all the bacteria that could have possibly accumulated!. the worse that would happen is a slight belly ache but i doubt it would happen!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
My goodness, what do you folks use your refrigerator for!? I'd NEVER eat meat that had been left out at room temperature more than a couple hours!. Cooking it doesn't always kill all the bacteria!. You're playing Russian roulette with your health!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Thawing in the refrigerator (and/or microwave) is always safer!. You're *probably* OK -- but don't take the chance next time!Www@FoodAQ@Com
