This is for Kauai:
1) gallon of milk - $5-7 depending on where you buy it and if it's on sale or not!.
2) gallon of gas - $4!.55 at Costco
3) meat, chicken, fish - I buy ground beef and chicken at Costco!. I don't eat fish but you can usually get really fresh fish fairly cheaply from local fishermen!.
Ground beef - $3-4 per lb!.
Chicken - frozen big bag of boneless chicken breasts or strips is around $12!.
4) toilet paper - depends on where you buy and brand!. I'm partial to Charmin Big Roll myself, but I usually get the gigantic bag o' T!.P!. at Costco for around $16!. It has 24 rolls, I think!. Maybe more!.
5) cereal - I got Trix and Lucky Charms for my son yesterday at Safeway, buy one, get one free!. It was $6!.99 per box, but one was free!.
6) school supplies - Wal Mart, baby! Elmer's glue and 24 pack of Crayola crayons - $!.25 each!. Pack of 6 big pink erasers - $2!.19!. Black and white speckled composition book - $!.50!. Pack of 100 sheets of wide ruled paper - $!.50!. Little hand held pencil sharpener - $!.79!. Pencil box (plastic) - $1!.
7) beer - depends on the brand!. I buy Hinano for my boyfriend and it's $10 for a 6 pack of bottles, but there are cheaper beers, for sure!.
8) alcohol - Bottle of Malibu rum - $22!. Chardonnay - $6-9 a bottle for the 'decent' not 'great' stuff!.
(Sorry, not much of a drinker!. Can't quote any more than those!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you are moving to Hawaii!. the price of a gallon of milk should be the least of your concerns!. ask the price of housing then you'll get what you asked for!. Prices are always a bit more expensive when you live on an island that has to import goods!. Before deciding to move you should have done your research!. If you have to look at the cost of an essentials like FOOD and Toilet paper, then you CAN"T afford to live in Hawaii!. sorryWww@FoodAQ@Com
