Whats a truffle?!
I have heard people eat them and that they are expensive!. But what exactly are they!? what do they look like and how do you eat them!? Why are they so expensive!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

In the culinary world, the truffle is treasured and relished like no other by food aficionados!. A type of mushroom, the truffle is harvested underground, just several meters below the roots of pine, chestnut, willow, and oak trees!. The truffle resembles a potato and depending on its species and geographical location, can appear in gray, yellow, and brown colors!.
During the late 17th century in France that the truffles gained real prominence as a royalty ingredient in gourmet cooking!. The truffles, during that time, were so expensive that only the nobles were able to afford them!.

they grown in the grown under trees in forests usualy in europe - pigs or dogs can sniff them out - but this takes time and hence the cost!.
They cant be farmed or mass produced!.
