Question: With the prices of EVERYTHING going up so much what are your tips for keeping cost down when grocery shopping!?
Answers:
Look for specials in the produce aisle!. Only buy what you are going to eat in the next couple days!. Buy frozen and canned produce!. Frozen and canned produce a lot of the time has just as much nutrition and sometimes has more nutrition than the fresh stuff!. Stick with store-brand frozen fruits and vegetables!. You don't have to buy familiar brand-name items!. A lot times they are made at the exact same place as store-brand items!. Don't by frozen vegetables with sauce or extra salt or frozen fruit with added sugar!. Plain is always better and a lot of the time it is cheaper as well!. Start eating more legumes, such as beans and lentils!. They are so incredibly reasonable and you can make big pots of soups and large dinners with these items!. Cook ahead of time and freeze meals!. When it comes to soups and casseroles, I'll freeze them in those two-cup plastic, those "from the freezer to the microwave" containers!. I write on them exactly what it is and then you just pull them out as you need them!.

Get someone else to do the shopping!.
Only things on the list are purchased that way!.
Buy marked down or "specials"
Buy in bulk quantities as much as you can!.
Avoid "ready-made products", cakes, sauces etc, make your own!.
If you only need a couple of things, use a basket and not a trolley, better still just your hands!.
Ignore the chocolate and snack aisle!.
Source local growers and buy direct from them!.
Attempt to shop once a month!.
Stick to a budget!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Make a list of what you need before you go shopping!. Buy only what is on that list and only things you NEED :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com
