What type of gelatine does the brand JELL-O have?!
i just wanted to know what type of gelatine the JELL-O brand has!? is it cow or pig gelatine!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
The gelatin used in Jell-o is made from both cattle & hogs!.
!.
There are special kinds of gelatin on the market that indicate the specific animal origin that was used for its production!. For example, Muslim halal or Jewish kosher customs may require gelatin from fish!. Vegetarians avoid gelatin and use other emulsifiers instead, such as agar, carrageenan, pectin, or konnyaku!.
!.
If you wish to avoid gelatin made from cattle & hogs you will have to do more then not eat Jell-o!. Gelatin is also used to make many other products, from whipped toppings to the clear gel caplets (or coatings) on medicines!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
