Question: Assuming that you have been chewing a cracker for 5 minutes!. How would taste change, Why!? How would u prove it
Answers:
You'd notice that it would start to get sweet after a while, not sugar sweet but it would definitely be sweeter than when you first put it in your mouth!.

This is because your saliva is starting to break down the starch in the cracker into glucose!. You could "prove" it by testing it with something like a glucose testing strip!. Take a sample of the cracker, crumble it up and stick it in a test tube with an equal amount of water and stir!. Let it sit for a few minutes!. Then draw up some of the water and dibble a few drops on the testing strip!. Put it aside!.

Take a cracker, stick it in your mouth and chew for a few minutes!. After a few minutes of chewing, take a bit of that and like the first sample mix it with some water!. Let it stand a few minutes and test it with the paper!.

You would notice that the paper for each would be a different colour showing that the chewed cracker sample had more glucose present than the other one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you were chewing on the same cracker for 5 minutes, that is impossible because your saliva would dissolve the cracker and it would be too slimey and gooey with nothing to chew on!. Unless you chew once every 10-20 seconds!. I chew every bite atleast 32 times before i swallow!. IMO chewing your food alot gives you more pleasure than chewing it 5-10 times then swallowing!. As you chew the food the taste would dissolve into your taste buds but if you dont chew and just swallow you will barley taste anything, it would just make you full, but wont satisfy your cravings!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
