!.!.!. of food going up everyday!? Forget about eating out, between the recent 25% increase in meal prices and gas at $4 a gallon , who could afford it and grocery shopping has become like a trip to the chamber of horrors for me! So, how are you coping, what are you cooking that's economical AND healthy!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Well, I have stopped buying all "junk food and junk drinks" (chips, cookies & cakes, ice cream, beer, wine, coffee, tea, soda pop, etc!.) and, for that matter MOST pre-made stuff, whether boxed, bagged or frozen!. That means no more deli-meats (imported & domestic cold cuts, sausages, bacons etc!.) or salads or our favorite imported cheeses!.
!.
For breakfast it's usually some type of egg and bread toast or home-made pancakes with a piece of fruit!.!.!.we rarely have things like cereal, bagels, muffins, bacon, breakfast sausages, etc!. anymore!. No coffee, just milk, water or apple juice!.
We now make our lunch sandwiches from peanut butter and home-made jelly (we have grape vines) or cuts from left-over roasts and meat-loaves (from supper the night before)!.
I also make soup from left over veggies, meat stocks and home-made pasta!.
For dinner I try to make an entree that I can stretch the left-overs for at least two meals!.!.!.meat loaf, roast turkey or chicken (which make great turkey or chicken salad sandwiches the next day) chuck or pork roasts, etc!.
In short, we are eating very plainly & cost-wise these days!.
!.
I put in a big veggie garden this summer and have been doing a lot of canning!. Freezing may be easier but then you have to pay to keep that big deep freezer running!. We unplugged ours!.
!.
We only go out to eat about once a month now and sadly it's not to any of our old favorite resturants any more!. Now it's more likely to be for a pizza or a fish dinner at "Long John's"!.
!.
My husband hasn't had a pay raise in several years now!.!.!.even though the price of everything but housing has been going up!. Last month he was told that the company he is working for will be laying a lot of people off this fall!. He was told that while he wouldn't be laid off, they need him to continue supervising his department!.!.!.he would have to take a 30% pay cut if he stayed!. In short, he'll be getting about what his starting pay was 20 years ago when 1st hired on!.!.!.before he was promoted to supervisor!. Unfortunately things (not even houses) cost what they did 20 years ago!.
Still, it's better then not having a job!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

!.08 per gallon

Thats right I said !.08 per gallon

I found the info on YouTube by searching

It works

You should try it -- and NOT SAY

IT IS

Now I dont have to search the internet for "How can I find or I am looking for the lowest cheapest prices for gasoline in my town city area neighborhood"

This is no scam

Hi there, I'm in North San Diego County, and gas is over 5 bucks a gallon!.!.!.!.!.!.In La Jolla, where my doctor is, it was 5!.69 for premium at a Mobile station!.!.!.!.!.!.

I now walk to work, take the Coaster (shuttle train) if I want to go downtown San Diego (and a round trip is $6) and only shop the sales!.!.!.!.!.!.Those store flyers that come in your mail are INVALUABLE in saving money!.!.!.!.!.!.

So, now that I've cut back on my gas, I only have to put in $25 a week to keep my truck full!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

When I am going to get groceries, I try the store brand instead of the name brand!. Most times, they both taste exactly alike and are a lot cheaper than the name brand that is one way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just looking for bargains and not eating out so much!,it is a bit scary the prices of everything !!,maybe we will begin to see a change come January !!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
