Why are frozen foods so high in calories?!

Question: Why are frozen foods so high in calories!?
I was wondering why frozen foods are so high in calories, especially when the amount per serving is so small!. (frozen foods like TV dinners, hotpockets, breakfast bowls!.!. stuff you heat up in the microwave!.)
For example, one hot pocket is ~300 calories, but the amount food you get is pretty small!. Are there any perservatives which cause extra calories!? !.!.!. is that even possible!? Is it that the food they use, such as chicken or eggs, is naturally high in calories!?
you know what I mean!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Preservatives and freezing have nothing to do with it!. Its the ingredients in these TV dinners and Hot Pockets!. They're either very very sweet, or very very high in fat!. You get the high fats and high carbs because freezing can dull some flavors, so to make up for it, you have to supercharge the foods with the flavor carriers like fats and sugars!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know, it disgusts me!. I think it is not the food, it is all the fat in it!. My boyfriend gets these little frozen chinese box things filled with rice and chicken or beef, and then I read the label and they are 500 plus calories!. One night we had hungry man dinners and I was shocked that something that only filled me up was around 900 calories!. You are much better off preparing fresh dinners, you have control over how much oil or butter/margarine you use!. Chicken and eggs are fairly low in calories!. I'd rather broil chicken or fish and have a potato and a salad!. I can do that for half the amount of 900 calories and enjoy it more/feel better about the calories!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it's not it having to be frozen to do with it, its just fattening!. hotpockets!? even if that was fresh out the oven it would still be high in calories!. The preservatives isnt a factor because freezing it is what preservatives it not extra chemicals!. If broccoli/bread/meat is frozen, or broccoli/bread/meat is fresh its not more calories It's the ingredients in it, like pepperoni in hotpocketsWww@FoodAQ@Com
