pastrami on ryeWww@FoodAQ@Com

A good kosher Reuben sandwich!.

The sandwich, by the way, was named by Reuben Kulakofsky, a grocer from Omaha, Nebraska, was the inventor, perhaps as part of a group effort by members of Kulakofsky's weekly poker game held in the Blackstone Hotel from around 1920 through 1935!. The participants, who nicknamed themselves "the committee," included the hotel's owner, Charles Schimmel!. The sandwich first gained local fame when Schimmel put it on the Blackstone's lunch menu!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There's a deli several miles away from my home that makes the best Reuben sandwiches I've ever had, they pile on the lean corned beef so high you almost have to unhinge your jaw to get your mouth around it and the fresh sliced bread!.!.!.wish they were open today, I'd go and get one now you've got me thinking about it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like a nice Kosher Corned Beef sandwich on Jewish rye with caraway seeds; lean, warm, piled high and topped with a spicy stone-ground brown mustard!.
