White rice vs. Brown rice?!

Question: White rice vs!. Brown rice!?
There is a long standing debate between some friends and I about the nutritional value of white rice vs!. brown rice!.!.!.

I usually eat white jasmine rice, but I've been told this is really not as good for me as eating something like brown basmati rice!.

What is the difference!?

And if possible, what is the difference between these 2 types of rice!?

Is white rice really that bad for me!?

Will it cause alot of weight gain if eaten regularly, as my friends have said!?

Thanks for helping our ongoing debate!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Brown rice is less processed than white, so it has more nutrition!. Brown rice has more fiber, healthy oils, B vitamins, and other trace nutrients that lie in the grain's husk!.

White rice might be considered "unhealthy" because it is a simple carb food, meaning it gives you quick energy with little nutrition!. It will raise your blood sugar quicker, so you'lll feel more hungry afterwards, which is how it could lead to weight gain, but as long as the rest of your diet supplies a healthy amount of calories and nutrition, eating white rice won't exclusively cause weight gain!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Brown rice is better for you!. Jasmine rice is my favorite too! The thing is there is lots of starch!. Yes you can gain weight from eating alot of your Jasmine rice!. Try the brown rice, it's good too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Brown rice is a whole grain!. White rice has been stripped of most nutrients and is basically just like eating empty cabs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
