Answers:
It would have to be a very large sweet potato if it isnt done in an hour at 400 degrees F !.!.!.!.!.!.!. here are the regular instructions for baking sweet potatoes !.!.!.!.!.!.!. Bake sweet potatoes in their jackets !.!.!.!.!.!.!. Wash, cut off the ends and bake in a preheated 400 degree F oven for 40 to 60 minutes (depending on the size of the potatoes and how firm you want them to be) !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. Bake the potatoes on a baking sheet; the sugars in the potatoes can drip out and burn on the floor of your oven !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. so if yours arent done in an hour, either the sweet potato is one of the world's largest, your oven is not heating up properly, or you may have miss-set your timer !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. = )Www@FoodAQ@Com

interesting, did you poke little wholes in it all over the potato!? I cook large sweet potatoes in my microwave for bout 8 minutes and they become soft then!. The wholes are important, use a steak knife or similiar and make little wholes in about 10 different areas!. Try turning the potato in the middle of cooking so it cooks evenly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

hmmm!.!.!.!.!.maybe your oven is not working!? did you cook anything else in there!? if you did, did it cook properly!? maybe your oven isnt distributing heat properly and you had it in a somewhat colder position, like, where it would still be hot but may take much longer to cook!.!.!.

try microwaving it for 10 mins!.!.!.!.!.always works :)

good luck! i hope you get to eat your potato soon!!
