Why has Campbells soup gotten RIDICULOUSLY expensive?!

Question: Why has Campbells soup gotten RIDICULOUSLY expensive!?
I remember when most were either 2 or 3 for a dollar and now everything is $1!.25-$1!.75 except for tomato, chicken noodle and cream of mushroom!. $1!.65 for bean and bacon and it was half that only about two years ago! The store brands are so much cheaper now!.!.!.

The price change seems to have come with the pull top cans and new dispay units!. I really don't mind using a can opener myself if I can save 75 cents a can!.!.!.

also 30 varieties on the self but no cheddar soup which is great for nachos! I use to eat soup all the time but now it's a luxery food!. Grrr!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It costs a lot in diesel fuel to transport those heavy cans full of water and salt!.

Make your own, it's cheaper and better!. You can buy organic soup stock to make it easier if you like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Everything has gotten ridiculously expensive!.=)Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you knew how easy it is to make soup, you'd never buy canned again!. Even if you're not a cook, soup is one of those things that is so easy to learn how to make, and yours will be cheaper, better, and healthier than any canned soup on the shelf!.

To start!? Buy some good canned chicken stock, throw in some fresh chopped (or frozen) veggies, cooked diced chicken (buy the ones already roasted for you at the deli) and Voila - you have chicken veggie soup !.!.!. add those little noodles you can buy in the pasta section!. Yum!.

Bean with Bacon - add some canned cannellini beans to chicken stock along with cooked crumbled bacon and onions, a can of tomato sauce to add depth!. Good eats!.

I know I'm simplifying, but my point is soup is easy - and there are a lot of short cuts you can take if you don't want to make it "from scratch"!. It will still be better than canned!.

Maybe these will take your fear away !.!.!. the first one might satisfy your craving for cheese soup:

Its not the packaging its the money to get the soup from the factory to the store, gas prices are up and the truckers have to tack that on to their services!.
It's not that hard to make your own soup, get a whole chicken put in a pot(if there is just one of you one chicken breast or chicken leg or beef soup bones) then simmer for about 30 minutes, add some cut up veggies like carrots or broocoli, or onions and potatoes!. Simmer for another 30 minutes until the veggies are done!. Season to your taste!.
For nachos get some Velveeta or Cheez Whiz and melt it in the microwave, instant nacho cheese sauce!Www@FoodAQ@Com
