Mine did that same thing just yesterday!. It was just cooling down!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Constant heating and cooling of the metal on the element causes stress on the metal !. Eventually you`ll hear this"stress" as you are now !. It`s normal and nothing to worry about !.

If you listen real close , you`ll also hear a faint clicking noise while the element is on !. You won`t hear it on the highest heat , buy as you turn the switch to a cooler setting you`ll hear it more and more (every 5 to 30 seconds or so) !. That clicking noise is the switch cycling on and off to control the heat !.Www@FoodAQ@Com

probably the igniter sensor is faulty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
