Many a good tune can still be played on an old fiddle, as they say!. :-)

Anyway !.!.!. the big problem is that the lid is glass!. Try to screw anything INTO that and it will break!.

As a bloke, my solution would be to fit a new knob (Oo-er, matron!)!. These are available in most DIY stores for drawers (there we go again) and cupboards!. They come (I just can't keep this up! Age!) with fixing screws!. This will need to pass through the hole in the lid!. I would also strongly recommend fitting a heat-proof plastic or nylon (NOT metal) washer on the inside to spread the load and protect the glass!. also don't over-tighten it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Take the lid to the hardware store and try different screws until you find the right one!. Make sure the screw can't come loose and go into your foodWww@FoodAQ@Com
