Can anyone recommend a type of fish?!

Question: Can anyone recommend a type of fish!?
I've really been fancying some fish for tea lately!. Tuna features in my diet quite a bit but I'm bored with its meaty texture and I'd like a more 'fishy' fish!. I'm trying to watch what I spend so need something that isn't too pricey!.

Any recommendations!?

No 'your little brother's goldfish' suggestions, please!. ;-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would recomend Salmon, as it is full of flavour, you can have it somked or just plain, you can buy it cold and eat it cold, or you could buy one that you have to cook, both very different in texture and a little bit in flavour!. also salmon is a very healthy and a non-fatty fish, which is great if you want to lose weight or just become more healthy, as salmon goes with just about anything!. Its great in a salad!. Plus its quite cheap to buy!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The various fish recommended already are good tasty suggestions!. Personally I would recommend going to a fishmonger, or at least a supermarket with a knowledgeable person on the fish counter, and asking them what's in season, fresh and inexpensive!.

You may also want to buy fish from sustainable sources if you care about the environment and depletion of fish stocks!. Many supermarkets promote "No Catch" fish and other alternatives to our traditional sea-caught old favourites!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

get a good fresh piece of mackeral, (quite cheap to buy) then make up some Black Bean Sauce (you might be able to buy some ready made stuff from your local Chinese Fast Food Shop, ask for about 2-3 table spoons, uncooked) you might be able to get it for free too!

pan fry the fish until skin is crispy, season with a little salt to stop it from sticking to the pan, then keep warm in a oven while u prepare the Black Bean Sauce!.

Put the BB sauce into a pan heat gently, with some diced onions (and chilli, Optional) when you can smell the aroma, its time to add water!. (the ammount depends on how much sauce you want to make), season with a little salt and pepper and 'SUGAR' and DARK soy sauce, thicken with corn flour, and pour over the fish!

enjoy
