It is a fruit because it has seeds!.Anything in the fruit and vegetable category has seeds it is a fruit!. also fruits most of the times grow on vines and trees, etc!. So tomatoes, cucumbers, and pumpkins are a fruit!. Along with everything else that has seeds!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A tomato is a fruit because of the seed configuration!. A little known fact, years ago a man that discovered this fruit actually ate it when the people of the village thought it was poison , he ate of it and lived to tell the tale!.
