Thats one of those questions like if hot dogs come in packages of 12 why do buns come in packages of 8!.

An easy answer would be " Who makes square meat slicers"

A pretty well thought out answer is lol!.!.!.!.

Cheese comes in blocks because its formed that way, good meat comes in rumps which are mostly round in shape because it comes that way off the animal they dont cut square chunks out of cows/turkey etc animals arent shaped that way, if its square its over processed meat from different parts of the animal put together ewwwwwwWww@FoodAQ@Com

It usually is that way if you buy prepackaged Oscar Mayer or the like!. If you get it sliced to order from a deli, most of the meats will be rectangular!. Depends on the manufacturer!. And yes, not all bread is square just (again) prepackaged loaves!. Sandwich rolls are long, Kaiser rolls are round!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well it all started in 1967 when a famous inventer decided to create bread which was square and his best friend got mad at him and made the sandwich meat in the shape of a circle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

hmm thats what i always wonder!?!?!!
it bugs the crap out of me,,

so to solve the problem i caught
my meat to the size of the bread and
give the scraps to my doggieWww@FoodAQ@Com

Wow!. Good point!. Now that I think about it, that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!. I guess it's just the easiest way to make the two products!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ohmygod!.!. good question!.

I think it's just because when they get the slabs of meat they're round, and then they slice the round slabs on their special cutter at the deli, and they just turn up round!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's because of the process involved in making each!. Bread is made in square tins, while sandwich meat is made like sausage, in round tubes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Same reason they sterilize needles for lethal injection, same reason Lemon Pledge has real lemon oil but Country Time lemonade is made with artificial lemon flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sandwich meat is packed into intestines and they are round!.

Bread is baked in square cornered pans!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its probably easier to produce a round piece of sandwich meat before cutting it than it is to make a squar one and cut itWww@FoodAQ@Com

haha that's a funny question
maybe you can either cut your bread round, or go buy a square shape ham Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe they used to make the breads round a long time ago!. I have come across some square ham though lately!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
