Answers:
Considering grains and beans were introduced to the human diet around only 10,000 years ago, you can live quite well without them!. Modern humans managed to do so for at least 100,000 years!.

The "cave man" diet included a lot of meat, organ meats, fish, berries and other fruits, and some root vegetables!. It is the diet humans are adapted to eat!.

The Inuit live on a diet consisting almost completely of meat!.

TX2step: Diabetes, heart disease, cavities and a host of other problems were unknown until agriculture arrived!. The low life span of a cave man was due to things like childhood mortality, catastrophic injuries (wildebeest attack), murder or infections, not heart attacks, strokes or diabetes!. If an individual could avoid these, they could live a very long and productive life!. The archaeological record has plenty of remains of elderly cave men without signs of degenerative diseases!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You need protein to lose weight !.!.!. LEAN chicken, pork, beef or fish (bread is NOT protein)!. But you need some fiber too, to keep your digestive system working properly (oatmeal would provide that; but so would whole-grain bread) !.!.!.!.!.!.Interesting answer above, citing the diets of cavemen, since their life expectancy was in the 20's:)Www@FoodAQ@Com
