It's a dip made from chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic and paprika!.

It's typically used to dip pitta bread and things like carrot sticks, celery etc into!. But it's so yummy and good for you and it can be used in lots of other ways!. You can use it instead of butter on sandwiches!. It goes really well with chicken and fish !.!.!.!. say instead of tomato sauce!. Fabulous with Turkish pide or pide pizzas!. An extra after cooking topping on a gourmet pizza!. Just use your imagination!

If you have a food processor it takes less than 2 minutes to make - just dump in a drained tin of chickpeas, a spoonful of tahini, a few garlic cloves, juice of 1/2 a lemon and a good pinch of paprika (and salt and parsley if you like) !.!.!.!. start blending and pour in the olive oil a little at a time while it's blending until it reaches your desired consistency!. You can also control the garlic, lemon and paprika quantities until it's the perfect blend for you!. As there's no quickly perishable ingredients it will keep nicely in the fridge for about 5 days!. Very handy!

Store bought hummous tends to have thickeners and preservatives and is often a little bland and disappointing!.
