What do they do with all the buttermilk when they make butter?!


Question: What do they do with all the buttermilk when they make butter!?
In the butter industry, i'm sure there must be hellish amounts of buttermilk left over!? What do they do with it!? It seems a waste to just dispose of it!?
I'm told it might get used in scones but i don't think that many scones are made!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Buttermilk is in the grocer dairy cooler!.!.
and excess must be used in cheese making or dehydrated to add to many hundreds of tons of cake mix or biscuit in the tube then figure in the pet food industryWww@FoodAQ@Com

They sell it to people to make scones and pancakes and such like!. It makes the BEST lightest pancakes on earth, it is also used in animal feed!. xWww@FoodAQ@Com

They dry it into powdered milk!.
Since most of the fat has gone into the butter, thats where the nonfat powdered milk comes from!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You buy it in the grocery store just like you buy milk or cream!. It is great for baking, I use it all the time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
