Throw that out! Aluminum pots are dangerous, the aluminum seeps into the food!. Its highly toxic!.
Get a stainless steel stockpot, or even better stainless steel with an aluminum core inside (its a good heat conductor, but should never touch your food)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It sounds like you need a stock pot with a heavier bottom!. Like an All-Clad for example!. If it something you use many times week then it's worth buying a high quality one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
