How can I stop my aluminium stock pot from burning food?!

Question: How can I stop my aluminium stock pot from burning food!?
Even on low heat settings!. It takes forever to bring to a boil on my flattop stove and if I stop stiring for a minute everything sticks to the bottom and burns!. This is a large 5 gallon pot, I use many times a week, but am ready to throw it out!. Any Ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

A heat defuser, there cheap, easy to find, gives that extra layerWww@FoodAQ@Com

Throw that out! Aluminum pots are dangerous, the aluminum seeps into the food!. Its highly toxic!.
Get a stainless steel stockpot, or even better stainless steel with an aluminum core inside (its a good heat conductor, but should never touch your food)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It sounds like you need a stock pot with a heavier bottom!. Like an All-Clad for example!. If it something you use many times week then it's worth buying a high quality one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
