Is it ok to eat food after the expiration date?!

Question: Is it ok to eat food after the expiration date!?
like chocolate and other cookies!. they taste fine to me and on the package it says 2007!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
They are completely fine!.!.!.!.as a matter of fact most valentine's chocolates are made a year in advance to keep up with Valentine's Day demand!.!.!.!.chocolate has an amazingly long shelf life as well as the cookies!. The cookies are still good because if they are a commercial brand they have hydrogenated oils which are used in numerous products to maintain freshness!. Hydrogenated oil is the reason twinkies and store bought bread don't go stale!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A few days (Say 3-4 days) after the food expires is okay, excluding milk!. But if it's a year old or something, then I would say you should throw them out!. If the cookies were sealed tightly with no air, and were never opened, I suppose it would be okay!. I would not recommend eating them though!. Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it smells alright & tastes good, then I would ~ definately can't waste chocolate!!! Biscuits would be a maybe depending what they are (cream filled) etc!.

If it's a different year then I would worry but if it was just a couple months, it wouldn't bother me so much!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I get afraid looking at food after expiry date!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If the date says 2007, then I would throw them out!. Doesn't matter if they still look okay to eat, throw them away!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
