Mac & Cheese - it seems to be mentioned a lot on here - do you make your own or is there a premade?!

Question: Mac & Cheese - it seems to be mentioned a lot on here - do you make your own or is there a premade!?
I keep seeing Mac & cheese mentioned like it's a brand name!. Does it come premade!? Is it already cooked with the sauce on it!? I just can't visualise what it would look like - I've always made my own from scratch!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I make mine from scratch also!. Boxed is just not acceptable in my household!. Besides boxed mac cheese is just plain nasty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, since I think that was me with our shopping lists (your suggestion of going through the aisles was good) I will explain!. It's a very popular box of dry macaroni noodles and a packet of cheese sauce!. You make the noodles, then add butter, milk and the dry cheese to the noodles!. It's really good!. Of couse homemade is better, but the Kraft brand box is faster!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Really!? I also get mine premade!. Stouffers Mac n Cheese is the WAY TO GO!. Totally, disgustingly unhealthy for you, but absolutely delicious!. With Stouffers, everything's already mixed up in there - just pop it in the microwave and wala, deliciousness!.

Kraft Dinner is the most popular, and it is more or less pre-made!. You have a cardboard box with raw noodles in it, plus a pouch of cheese sauce mix to which you have to add milk (and butter I believe)!. The whole cooking time is about 8 minutes!.

Here's a picture of the box! :-)

I make my own, but some people really like Kraft Mac and Cheese!. Myself I think it has NO flavor at all!. It was a handy side dish when the kids were little, but it doesn't compare at all to homemade!. Not even similiar in taste!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can buy it premade but I always make it homemade!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Kraft makes both, but I think Velveeta is the best!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
