I am going to go on this diet, the fat burning diet by jay robb, and a few of his smoothy recipes call for raw eggs!. Is it safe to eat raw eggs!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

People and scientist change their mind on this every year!. Same thing with coffee!. One year it's good for you the next it's not!.

I do extreme cardio and I eat raw eggs all the time!. I don't know if I am just used to them now for eating raw eggs for so long but I have never gotten sick from them!.

You can get some sort of poisoning from eating raw eggs but it's pretty rare!. You have a bigger chance to get sick from tap water!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Generally yes, especially if you are healthy (no immune system problems) and aren't a child or senior!. The odds of contracting salmonella from a raw egg these days is over 100,000 to 1!. However you could by pasteurized eggs to reduce that to 0 though they cost a bit more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most are safe now but there could be some dodgy suppliers!.
