Foods aren't anti-depressant!. The best you can do is go for nutrients in foods!. The B vitamins are supposed to be good for nervous health, and certain amino acids (like tryptophan) can boost mood!.

Some foods release endorphins, which are less anti-depressant as they are "uppers!." Energy drinks do not elevate mood, but basically give you short term buzzes!. The problem, aside from the fact that they're not great for your teeth and body, is that they cause crashes!. (That is, they make you feel better for a short time, but once they wear off, you wind up feeling worse than you did to begin with!.) In short, you go through withdrawl!.

Out of curiosity, why do you think self-medication and the use of non-prescription drugs is better than pharmaceuticals under the care of a physician!? Whether it's because you can't afford medical costs or because you have the crazy idea that they make you weaker or something, expensive designer foods and drinks aren't going to solve the problem!. If you're totally against using meds, cut out all drugs, including alcohol and caffeine and anything you smoke, stick to foods you prepare yourself (rather than snack foods, etc) and be sure you get at least half an hour of moderate exercise a day!. chocolate (and dark chocolate is packed with anti oxidants which are good for like your body!) Some scientists actually believe dark chocolate could be good for your heart!. (In moderation!.)

also eat a healthy balanced diet, and take a multi-vitamin, multi- vitamins may help overall health and can make you feel better if your unknowingly suffering from lack of certain nutrients!. For example lack of iron can cause anemia, anemia makes you tired and not feeling well!.

also Try to slow down on your caffine intake and eventually get away from it completely as much as possible!. Caffine is a drug, and most Americans are addicted to it!. Caffine can stay in your system months, and can cause withdrawl!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
