Is it safe to leave my crock pot on all day when I'm out of the house?!

Question: Is it safe to leave my crock pot on all day when I'm out of the house!?
Is this safe!? Has any one ever had a crock-pot accident!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Yes, that's what crock pots are designed to to - be on all day!.

My only advice is to clear any paper or plastic from around the crock pot!. The outside will get hot and you don't want that stuff to accidently fall near the cooker and smolder!.

The odds of that are low, but I have a cat that like climbing on counters so I make sure there's nothing that can get knocked down towards the crock pot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've done that plenty of times and not had any problems!. As long as it's not a super-old, beat up machine you should be fine; they're designed to be left unattended!.

I wouldn't leave any other cooking equipment on when I was out of the house, though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yep, its all good!! That's why they make them!. So you can set them and forget them!!! I make roast, baked chicken/ rice, red beans, strews!. Never have I nor any one in my huge family that all have one ever had a problem!! In fact i think it makes some dinners better since it cooks it slower!! Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always put roast, chicken, etc!.!.!.in the crock!.!.!.on low!.!.!.go to work!.!.come home and it is ready to eat!. The only accident I have had is, putting it on a higher setting and the food is hard and unedible!.!.HUGS!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes it is safe I do it all the time!. Just make sure it is not to close to anything like towels or curtains!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've never had a problem with my crock pot!. And I have never heard of anyone else having one either!. I would just make sure that yours is in good shape and you should be fine :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

i would say yes it is safe most have a built in switch in case of something wrong Www@FoodAQ@Com
