Salt in foods that go in freezer?!

Question: Salt in foods that go in freezer!?
I like to make up different meals then freeze them so i have them ready etc!. Is it ok to put salt into them!? Someone told me that the salt will defrost it and then the food will be harmful!. Is this true, as i have always added salt and had no problems!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Salt reduces the freezing by a few degrees below zero, about -5C!. A freezer works at less than -15C deliberately to avoid this happening as even salty fod will be frozen!.

That's why an ice-making compartment in a fridge shouldn't be used for freezing for more than a few days, they work at about -5CWww@FoodAQ@Com

It makes sense, logically - scientifically, that the salt would thaw it, however, no, your food won't be harmful!. It will still be good to eat!. also, if you've been doing this, and your just now finding this out!. You're fine right!? So, why panic now!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

No problem about seasoning your food for the freezer!. Just remember the freezing process somehow exaggerates the flavour so you might choose to use a bit less than normal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
