Is MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) the same as Vacuum packaging?!

Question: Is MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) the same as Vacuum packaging!?
Are these two types of food packaging the same or are there any differences in them!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No, vacuum packaging means they extract all the air; modified atmosphere packaging means they change the air for a different mixture of gases that will prevent the food decaying so quickly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Henry is right!. M!.A!.P usually incorporates a gas like nitrogen!. Vacuum is the total absence of air, and best suited for long-term freezing!. You shouldn't freeze MAP products, because it will still freezer-burn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
