Healthy snacks ideas for college students living in a dorm? Something cheap and easy!?!
Answers:
It depends on if you have a fridge!. I'll assume you don't I just moved out from rez, but when I did live there, my snacks consisted of:
- peanut butter and bananas, apples, and baby carrots
- cereal - often Special K or flavoured Cheerios (it sounds gross but they're fortified with TONS of vitamins and are relatively low-cal)
- dried fruit - there's a local bulk shop at my college that sells dry pineapple, mango, papaya, cherries, strawberries, raisins, canteloupe, blueberries, and even kiwis
- nuts - I liked cashews, peanuts, almonds
- cup o' soup
- instant hot chocolate
- yogurts
- microwave popcorn
- cereal or muffin bars
- low-fat pudding cups (look for ones with lots of calcium)
- instant veg chili - super high protein and fibre, super cheap - just look at the grocery store, at bulk stores, or camping stores
- rice crispy squares, made in a ghetto way by microwaving a couple marshmallows with whatever cereal I had lying aroundWww@FoodAQ@Com

i'm in college too! i like trail mix, popcorn, yogurt with granola, apples & pb, fruits, veggies, & lean deli meats for protein!. a great dip for veggies or chips is low-fat cream cheese mixed with salsa!. i love tortilla roll-ups: sprinkle some low-fat shredded cheese down the center of a flour tortilla, microwave for like 20 seconds, top with salsa & lettuce, roll up & eat! for a quick, filling, and low-cal meal, i love canned broth-based soups (there are some with less sodium, if that's a concern for you)!. hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com
