Is hydrolyxzed the same thing as hydrogenated?!
I've recently been cutting out foods with hydrogenated soybean oil because I have heard how damaging it can be to your body!. What other things/ingredients should I cut out!? And can you explain why!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
No hydrogenate is when hydrogen gas it whipped into oils to emulsify them to make them harder, like for shortenings, margarine's and fats that were used for deep frying in the past, most company's not all are eliminating that to a less trans fat based oil or shortening!.
Hydrolyxzed is similar but a drying process like freeze drying that uses hydrogen gas, it acts like a dehydrator and expells the moisture and then lightly heat the item and ry it further, seasoning and meats, especially with soup bases to add the extra flavour from the beef or chicken, it is more or less dried meat floss and then either powdered or mixed in as an agent for flavouring, some potato and tortilla chips use it for the meat or mock meat flavours!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
