I am a former chef from Canada and we do up here also, I love fried bologna or salami (kosher) for breakfast as and alternative to bacon, ham or sausages, what is bologna but a sausage in a larger format!.

I have worked all over and it is common as stated in Europe and is not uncommon in Asia, in Japan they are now eating more of a western style breakfast and there it is very popular, and in England I have had full english breakfasts with other meats plus the blood sausage!.
