I ama former chef and from canada an we have them here also, but they are not a known commodity in the U!.K, as stated crumpet are more the norm, U!.S/Canadian EM are more like a scone, either the scottish or irish soda style or potato style, but they are either triangle shaped or round and flatter like a U!.S pancake, and NO they do not serve Egg McMuffin's in the U!.K!.

The Thomas's is a play on the English and Scottish scone that is grilled and serve at/with breakfast or afternoon tea, not the ones with fruit like a tea bisicuit in the US or fruit scone here in Canada, more like flatter version of a bread roll than the muffin that is commonly though of in the US and UK, both are very different!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
