Why does chocolate make my mouth dry?!


Question: Why does chocolate make my mouth dry!?
I know that may sound a little strange to alot of people but whenever i happen to eat chocolate my mouth starts to get dry, now i know the obvious answer is "drink juice or milk" but im curious to know WHY it gets dry!? is there something in the chocolate!? this happens EVERY time i eat it!.!. and i eat all kinds and it doesnt matter what the kind is my mouth still gets dry after words!.!. i almost ALWAYs end up drinking juice or milk afterwords!.!.!. chocolate is not something i enjoy to eat!.!. i love vanillia ice creap or vanilla cake better, my mouth never gets dry from that =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

chocolate has caffeine, which according to my doctor makes the mouth and throat dry!. vanilla doesn't have caffeine, so it doesn't dry your mouth!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They say sugar makes your mouth dry, thats why some mouthwashes don't work after a while, they have sugar which makes you mouth dry and eventually your breath stinks!.
