Why is sugar bad for you?!

Sugar itself is not bad for you, especially if it is natural like the fructose found in fruit!. Even meats have a small amount of sugar in them!. Your body converts carbs into sugar!. Excess sugar is the easiest thing for your body to turn into fat and the hardest to burn off when you exercise!. Protein is needed to help build muscle!.
Sugar does not cause diabetes!. You either develop it when you are growing up when your pancreas does not make enough or any insulin (Type 1) or after a while, your pancreas can't use insulin properly (Type 2)!. The best way to cut down on your sugar is to read the nutrition information on foods and make sure not to go over the amount you need for the day!. There are also a lot of food and drinks with splenda or other sugar substitutes!. I drink light fruit juice for example to watch both calories and sugar intake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sugar is ok unless in excess, although bad for teeth if, especially if you eat some before bed and don't clean your teeth, it causes tooth decay!.

Sugar isn't really 'bad' for you but it doesn't contain any nutrients, it's just empty calories, and bacteria that cause tooth decay are attracted to your teeth by sugar in your mouth!. If you are careful about cleaning your teeth and aren't overweight there is no particular reason to restrict your sugar intake - it makes a lot of foods taste nicer, and, personally, I would rather have a product containing sugar than one loaded with chemical sweeteners like aspartame!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sugar is bad for you because your body doesn't "need" it to survive!. It just builds up!. Think of it this way!.!.!. If you boil pepsi or moutain dew, all the water will be gone but the sugar from it will still be in the bottom of the pan!.

Sugar isn't bad for you, nor is any other mineral/nutrient!. EXCESS sugar as well as any other nutrient can be bad for you (same with not enough)!. The reason people have this stereotype that sugar is bad is due to the fact so much of todays foods contain it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
