If it is not sealed well it can!. Once opened it definitely can!. I have eaten 2001 vintage EVOO within the past year and it tasted fine!. Although after about the 2 year mark it starts to go down hill on average!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Italian law states that olive oil expires two years after date of harvest!. This is the recommended period of time supported by all producers!.

If it's older than two years I would suggest buying a new bottle!. It may not hurt you to use but you will notice a much better taste in fresh oil!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They say approximately 18 months is the shelf life!. also if the olive oil tastes buttery, then it has gone rancid!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
