How You Pick Grapefruit That's Sweet In The Inside?!
Everytme we pick grapefruit we are unlucky lol!.!.!.!.it is not sweet!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.is it suppose to be dark orange, very soft!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.ect!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.What is the secret!? lol

One of the best tricks is to smell it!
Get your nose down near the little "nub" end (where the stem was) and give it a whiff!. The more "grapefruity" it smells, the more ripe it is, and the more ripe a piece of fruit is the longer the sweetness has had to develop!.
also, you're right about giving it a squeeze!. Although it shouldn't be toooo mushy, a little give is a good thing!. A firm fruit that doesn't leave a little mark where your finger was isn't ripe yet!.
also, if you're really into sweet grapefruit (depending on where you get yours), a lot of places sell fruit specifically marked as a sweeter variety!. Check out the labels and compare if you've got a selection!. Just don't get your hopes up too far -- grapefruit by nature has quite a tang, so a little sugar sprinkled on a half is my favorite way of devouring it!.

well, I'm not an expert but when you feel the grapefruit make sure not just one spot is squishy and the whole grapeefruit is soft!. Plus if you smell it the really good ones smell stronger than others!. Plus the bigger ones are usually sweeter so look for fully mature grapefruit :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
Grapefruit is generally sour, there's no such thing as a "sweet" grapefruit, only a "sweeter than the rest" grapefruit!. Those guidelines that you posted are good for finding the one that is "sweeter than the rest"Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think grapefruits are meant to be pretty sour! Try sprinkling brown sugar over one!. Pink grapefruits (with an orangey coloured skin) tend to be slightly less sour than the yellow ones but they definitely are not sweet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
