Is my chicken salad still good?!

Question: Is my chicken salad still good!?
I accidentally left my lunch out on the counter last night instead of putting it in the fridge!. Let's say from about 8:30pm-7am!. Everything else is non-perishable except the chicken salad!. I've been looking forward to this chicken salad for days! My husband told me not to eat it because the chicken will go bad but I was under the impression that's only if the chicken is raw!. I also wonder if the mayonaise would go bad!? Do you think it's ok to eat it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Toss it, for your own safety!. There are several high risk items (mayo and chicken are primary items) which compromise the food!. also it was time-temperature abused for almost 12 hours at room temperature!.

Well, unless you want to risk a food-borne illness just to get your food, go ahead, but the risk of Campylobacteriosis, Salmonellosis, Shigellosis, Listeriosis, bacillus cereus gastroenteritis *produces diarrheal toxin*, Staphylococcal gastroenteritis (VERY high risk of staph), clostridium perfringens (another high risk, can form endospores), ect!.!.!. needless to say the risk is very high and that is just a few bacterial infections that can occur!.!. don't even want to get into the fungi!.

I would just toss it out, there are so many things that could have gotten into the food, and the microbe levels will be fairly high!. Just toss it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, don't eat it!. Most likely bacteria have grown on the chicken due to the luke-warm state it was in overnight, but you can't see them with your naked eye!. The mayonase is definitely not good anymore!. Chuck the salad and make another one tonight!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

what was the room temperature!? when was the salad first made and left out!? you have not provided enough info!. for an educated reply!. what about salt!? is that one of the ingredients!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't eat the chicken salad, it's not safe, trash it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
