What is with the Euro addiction to NUTELLA?!

Question: What is with the Euro addiction to NUTELLA!?
I recently stayed in Greece for almost 3 months (I am a USA resident and had never been outside my country)!. I saw everything from children drinking Heineken at 10am, to barely dead octopus served with all its slime!. But the one thing I found to be the most peculiar was the Euro's fascination with NUTELLA!. Don't get me wrong it is ok, but I could only eat it in moderation!. It is sooo rich! They put it on almost everything, and sometimes would eat it right out of the jar with nothing else!

Someone please tell me what attracts them to it, and/or an example of what American's eat in high quantities that is weird to Europeans!.!.!.!.

My son started eating nutella because peanut paste was not allowed to be taken to school because of allergies!. So in Australia it is a good alternative and safe to take anywhere!. We must have high peanut allergies here, as most kindergartens and schools have "banned' peanut paste!.

My son eats at least 750mls a week- he is 17 and wont eat other kinds of spreads or fillings!. He is extremely fit - he plays a sport or has training session every day - it is good energy food with a good gi

It is pretty popular in Australia too - although I cant stand the smell of it let alone the taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
