How much is too much for banana consumption?!
I have literally been eating between 3-6 bananas a day for the past 3 weeks now!. I can't seem to get enough!. Could there be any other reason besides a possible potassium deficiency or too much sodium in my diet!? I am 37 years old and have NEVER had this craving before (or any craving this intense)!. My sodium intake has always been the same!. (no I'm not pregnant!) Any ideas!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

when you have cravings like this that go on for longer than a few days it's important to go see a doctor!. There's something else going on that may need to be looked at!.
You could have a potassium defciency but by eating bananas as much as you are as often as you are for the length of time you have been doing you may actually go the other way and have a potassium overdose!.
when you take in more potassium than your body can use then it has no where to go and it starts to affect your body in a bad way!. You could have heart palpitations all the way up to cardiac arrest!.
you could develop Addison's Disease--an autoimmune disorder that causes your kidneys to shut down, raises your blood pressure, and causes your heart to stop!.

You probably need something that is in bananas!. I started to crave ginger and eat it every day and make up recipes with it, the craving came on about the time I was getting arthritis!. I thought the ginger was helping my arthritis and sure enough I researched it and it is a natural anti-inflammatory and natural painkiller!. Research bananas and see what else besides potassium they have in them!. If you are taking diuretics, sweating a lot, or drinking a lot of drinks with caffiene in them, then maybe you are losing a lot of potassium!. Once I bought a big bag of bananas for about a dollar, took out the good ones and brought the speckled ones to my brother-in-laws rhesus monkey!. He ate 16 of them, but that time didn't eat the peels!. he didn't die but think he had a sore stomach for a while!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Bananas contain a large amount of sugar!. Natural sugar it may be but sugar it is nonetheless!. If you have 3-6 a day then it could be that you've become addicted to sugar!. Obviously this isn't as serious an addiction as drugs but if you don't have that same amount of sugar the next day you will experience a sugar low which is a feeling of lethargy and you will feel the need to eat more bananas to increase your sugar level!.
This can be pretty dangerous because eventually your pancreas (which is the organ responsible for controlling sugar in your body) will give up releasing sugar into your body because of this readily available amount of sugar in your body!. This can lead to diabetes in extreme cases!.
