Line the inside of a shirt box with tin foil!. Put them in kind of tight!. Line the lid with foil and use it as such or tape some plastic wrap over the top if the cupcakes are too tall!. I always wrap the outside of the box in holiday paper (paper theme depending on the occasion), but you don't have to do that!.
This keeps them safe from bugs, cat hair, and sneezes! LOL also, you don't have to worry about getting your serverware back!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depending on what type of cones you're using (i!.e!. regular vs!. waffle cones), you could try using an egg carton!. Cut the bottoms out of each of the "cups" in the egg carton and insert the cones to maintain their spacing and give them some stability!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Sorry I don't have an answer, however I do NOT recommend an egg carton unless you sanitize it as eggs (outer shells as well as the egg itself) can carry salmonella and that can be very dangerous with little children!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Use an aluminum pan or big glass casserole dish!.
They fit nicely in either one!.
I have used one of those Rubbermaid brand plastic food container w/lid!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
