Answers:
Contrary to what the previous poster said, eating too many bananas is not as bad as eating too many (or any) Big Macs!. The difference is that bananas have beneficial nutrients, and Big Macs have practically none!.

A proper diet isn't so much about calories, it's about the nutrients!. So while technically a processed food item (with added sugar) may have less sugar than say, a peach- there's stuff in that peach that will help keep you healthy, where the processed lighter-sugar food is made of things that were stripped down to the bare essentials and had processed nutrients added back in!.

For your original question- natural sugar is what's in food as it's found in nature, and added sugar isn't necessarily *bad*- but it was added in by people!. Applesauce without added sugar will always be better for you than with added sugar, because in modern society we generally take in FAR more sugar than we need!. I've been trying to find out what a decent amoung of sugar per day is (I'm on a low sugar diet), but haven't yet found anything to that effect!. Bleh!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is more of a catchy term right now than anything else!. Natural sugars occur naturally in fruits and vegetables!. Foods like bananas (or beets--they're really high in sugar) are high in natural sugar!. Added sugar is sugar like you have in the cabinet that has been added to something to make it sweeter!.

You'll never be able to find which one is better for you!. Here's why, they're exactly the same!.

Where do you think that added sugar comes from!? It's the natural sugar from either sugar cane or beets that has been refined out into crystal form!.

Marketing has made it popular to say natural on the side of everything but it's just that, marketing!.

Food is about calories, not sugar!. Natural sugar and processed sugar are high in calories so you should limit your intake of both!. Too many bananas every day would do just as good a job getting you fat as too many Big Mac's, it's all about calories!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Natural sugar is found in fruits (and other things too, but primarily fruit)!. It's fine for you!. Added sugar is when a packager or manufacturer adds white refined sugar, corn syrup, molasses or other processed sugar!. Your body doesn't metabolize that as well as natural sugar!. Unless you're a Type 1 diabetic, you can have as much fruit as you want!. It's GOOD for you! - but you should not eat refined sugar to excess (the amount would depend on your medical health and weight)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Natural sugar is the sugar that occurs in a food that nature put there!.

Added sugar is what humans put in the cooking process!. You can make applesauce using only apples!. THat would be applesauce with natural sugar!. You can make applesauce and add sugar to make it sweeter!. That would be applesauce with added sugar!.

I can't tell you how much of each you should have each day but you might be able to google that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
