What is the advantage of using a honey serving utensil?!

Question: What is the advantage of using a honey serving utensil!?
I don't understand what this wooden ribbed ball at the end of a stick does for you when serving honey!. Plus it's a pain in the butt to clean!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It allows you to control when the honey drips and when it doesn't so you don't dribble honey everywhere!. Twirl it in your hand to keep the honey from dripping, and hold it still to evenly pour the honey!. Start twirling it again to stop the flow!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe the way you are cleaning it is making it harder for yourself!.
Best way is to rinse under just boiled water before you wash it!.
It seems to make drizzling honey a little easier and quicker rather than using a spoon which you inevitabley have to scrape off with a knife or something else to get all your honey (or it's wasted - which here in
Australia you don't do because honey prices soared a few years ago)!.
But I suppose with honey any gadget is going to require a little extra patience and time to use and clean - but it's so worth it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Firstly, it's called a Honey Dripper!.

And I only run mine under hot water (to clean it) when I'm changing honey jars!. Otherwise, I leave the dripper in the jar (in the fridge)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

honestly I have no clue what that f***ing thing is for!. I just use a spoon!.

I think the honey serving thing is just for show!.!.!.!. kind of like a martini glass or something!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've found it very useful myself!.

I've been serving the honeys for some time now, and have never had any complaints about my utensil!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It just gives more surface area to lift out honey without it dripping everywhere!. You don't have to use it, just use a spoon and lick clean :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've got one stashed in a drawer somewhere and you're right: it's a pain to clean!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

hahaha I've always wondered why too!Www@FoodAQ@Com

it allows you to dribble it over whatever you are making evenly instead of in globsWww@FoodAQ@Com

idk all the honey i get is like solid, much better then the liquidWww@FoodAQ@Com

I agree!. It seems to be more trouble that it's worth!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
