Do baked beans count as on of your five a day?!


Question: Do baked beans count as on of your five a day!?
and if so - how many portions of your five a day is in one can!.
also - does tomato soup count or is it too processed

I am really struggling to eat enough fruit and veg now everything is so expensive!. £1!.30 for a loaf of bread - what a cheek :(

Why not make some veg soup, you can get reduced older veg quite cheap at the supermarket, take it home & use it immediately!. Make a large pan of soup, liquidise & freeze portions, this should give you at least 2 of your 5 a day & also save you some money!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Lentils count as one of your 5 a day, are very cheap and are low in fat and very nutritious!. There are lots of ways that you can use them, substitute them for meat in curry, lasagna, bolognaise, shepherds pie, chilli!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Beans are low in fat, but beware, most people don't realise that they are also very high in salt, so try not to eat them every day, or buy reduced salt varieties!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
